Catholic Development Alliance is a partnership of senior development professionals who have come together to serve Catholic dioceses throughout the US. For over 25 years, our partners have led strategic planning and capital campaigns with a broad range of Catholic organizations across the country—schools, parishes, religious orders, lay apostolates and Catholic radio.
This understanding of the broader Church is brought to the work we do with arch/dioceses.
At the 2017 National Convocation of Catholic Leaders, we heard bishops repeatedly remind participants of two urgent priorities: as a Church, we must be about discipleship and evangelization.
We have taken that challenge to heart. What if the diocesan campaign was understood as more than just projects and money? What if the campaign enlivened Catholics with this overarching mission? What if the campaign became a vehicle not only to raise money, but to renew a sense of unity and camaraderie among the faithful?
This is our mission.
Long before asking for donations, our campaign preparation engages not just prospective major gift donors, but hundreds of Catholics within each parish in discussions about the needs of the diocese and their particular parish. Through these collective conversations, we bring people into the heart of the Church so that as believers we might “be of one mind.” (2 Cor. 13:11)
About Our ProcessWe incorporate some of the same methods and procedures found in all successful campaigns. Still, among Catholic fundraising, the diocesan campaign is unique.
Lack of a proper ecclesiology among the faithful.
Inadequate effort to identify and engage prospective major gift donors.
Incomplete Pledge Redemption.
By implementing a fresh, comprehensive process, we deliver greater value and provide superior results.
The ideas presented here summarize our approach and highlight just three areas of our process. In reality the diocesan campaign is a complex endeavor, and every diocese has its own unique circumstances.
Let’s have a conversation. Tell us where the Holy Spirit is moving your diocese.
